Trail Notes
Thoughts from a Experienced Hiker
With a 5 day backpacking trip planned in the foothills of the Smokies I decided to retire my old hammock of another brand that I purchased many years ago. I had never been really satisfied with it for several reasons so I upgraded to the R&R Hammocks Thru Hiker system complete with a new Dyneema composite fabric barn door tarp.

Hammock Camping
Hammock Camping is easy and fun! Thousands of backpackers and hikers hit the trails across the United States every year and many of them have fell in love with Hammock Camping.
Perfection Loop
The Perfection Loop gives you the ability to tie a loop anywhere in the middle of a line without needing access to either end of the line.
Farrimond Friction Hitch
The Farrimond Hitch uses friction to stay in place on a line when tension is added.
Prusik Knot
The Prusik Knot can be easily slid back and forth on the continuous ridgeline for your hammock tarp.
Stopper Knot or Double Overhand Knot
The Stopper Knot is very simple to tie and is used at the end of the line as a stopper.
